Designed for use as a service drop from the power pole to the service entrance
or as a secondary cable from pole to pole.
• XLPE insulated cables are rated for 90°C operation.
• Polyethylene insulated cables are rated for 75°C operation.
Alcan Multiplexed Overhead Service and Secondary Cables are
constructed of:
• Phase conductors of either solid or compressed stranded 1350
H-19 (hard drawn) aluminum complying with ASTM-B230 and
ASTM-B231.
• High molecular weight-low density polyethylene or black
low density crosslinked polyethylene insulation on the phase
conductor. High Density Polyethylene insulation is available
upon request.
• A bare neutral conductor of stranded all aluminum (AAC),
aluminum conductor steel reinforced (ACSR),
or aluminum alloy conductor (6201).
• One or more insulated conductors twisted around the neutral
conductor with a right hand lay length of 25 to 60 times the
diameter of one phase conductor.
